Most ghost-hunting apps make the reading up
They animate an EMF needle that no sensor is driving, print words a random generator picked, and call it evidence. If a tool can produce a hit with nothing in the room, its hits mean nothing.
This app takes the opposite position. Every number on screen traces back to a sample your hardware produced or something you typed in yourself. When a sensor is missing or permission is denied, it says so instead of filling the gap.
Every record carries where it came from
Five provenance types, assigned at creation and never rewritten:
SENSOR
A measurement your device actually produced, with the samples behind it.
MANUAL
Something a person observed and logged, with their own confidence rating.
RANDOM PROBE
A cryptographic random draw. Labelled as such forever, never as a detection.
APP ACTION
A sound, vibration or flash the app itself made, plus the contamination window it created.
COMPOSITE
Two or more independent records that fell in the same time window.
When the app makes a sound or vibrates, it writes that down as its own action and marks the window it contaminated, so a reaction to the app can never be counted as independent evidence.
What is in the kit
Sensor Lab
Test the magnetometer, motion, orientation, camera, microphone, vibration, wake lock and location on your actual phone, and see the honest support and permission state of each.
Baseline calibration
30 to 120 seconds of real samples produce mean, median, spread and a robust sigma from the median absolute deviation. Later readings are compared to that baseline, not to a made-up threshold.
Investigation Console
Live elapsed time, capability status, a large one-handed Mark Event control with fourteen observation categories, and a timeline where every entry shows its source.
Capture and review
Photo, audio and video capture with immutable originals. Review builds time clusters from what was recorded and flags anything the app itself may have caused.
Your field record
Totals across every night, grouped by location, with each place's baseline history so you can compare tonight to the last time you were there.
What it will not do
- No EMF meter. Phones have a compass-grade magnetometer, not survey equipment, and the operating system filters it. It reports magnetic magnitude honestly and calls it that.
- No word banks, spirit boxes, or generated messages.
- No claim that anything recorded is paranormal. That judgement stays with you.
- No background or lock-screen recording. Browsers do not permit it, so the app keeps the screen awake and records any interruption as a gap rather than pretending to have covered it.
Your evidence stays yours
Sessions, events, photos, audio and video are stored in your browser's on-device database. There is no background sync. An account is optional, and cloud backup only ever moves the specific files you pick and confirm. Original captures are never altered or deleted automatically.
Install it on your phone
It runs in the browser and installs to your home screen: on iPhone use Share then Add to Home Screen, on Android use the browser menu then Install app. Once installed it opens full screen and works without a connection.
